Al W. Moe is a Nevada gaming historian and researcher specializing in the evolution of casinos, gambling culture, and the people who shaped the state’s gaming industry. His research draws on archives, photographs, firsthand accounts, and years spent looking beyond the simplified version of the story.
His work covers the early casinos of Reno, Lake Tahoe, and Las Vegas, the people who ran them, the evolution of gaming law, and the real extent of organized crime influence. He is the author of five books on Nevada gambling history.
